On the subject of less-than-serious bicycle films, imagine my surprise when, half way through watching the distinctly mediocre “You, me and Dupree”, Lance himself makes a brief appearance in a dream sequence.

Our hero, the titular Dupree, has acquired an aged 10-speed (he’s lost his job, his apartment and – worst of all – his car) and is reinventing himself in the image of Lance. The bike is the catalyst that allows him to – as Bertie Wooster might have said – rise from the ashes of his former self, and it’s a nice nod to how great riding a bike can make you feel, and how it can change your life. Probably.

I think this quote is reasonably representative:

Carl: And this whole Lance Armstrong thing…
Dupree: You leave Lance out of this! He’s doing more with one testicle than you and I could do with three!

Thanks for another great podcast guys, and sorry for the brit reference.

    Thanks, Fraser.

It’s not a movie I ever felt like watching, and that’s a great quote!

Another great Spokesman, Dave & Co. In spite of ‘quality problems’ that Dave apologizes for at the begining, you guys all seemed a little looser and had more fun than you usually seemed to have. Tim G seemed to have a cold, though.

Good discussion on the bike summit and moving away from the culture of “bike geeks.” I can totally picture Maus running around with his camera and computer and notebook and Tikit.

Oh yeah, I’ll be at the Sea Otter too.
