Listening to David talking about the “magic spanner” a few moments ago has made me realise that Trek may have overlooked something with the design of the new Madone frames. On the new model the rear brake is mounted close to the bottom bracket and will not be accessible by a mechanicl leaning out of a car window making he use of the magic spanner impossible.I wonder if these bikes will develop a problem with the seat pin slipping requiring tightening with the “magic allen key” I suspect this problem will happen most frequently after the rider has had to get off his bike to have a wheel changed following a puncture.
