On episode 111 Bill Stapleton (settlor of whistleblower lawsuit) was confused with Bob Stapleton (USA Cycling Board Chair). Thanks for an otherwise great show.
Oops! That was my error. Color me embarrassed! I will post a correction/retraction on the show notes. Thanks for pointing this out.
Oh, and I will also post a revised audio file that includes an explanation.
Sadly, my top “bike” story choice was the top Google search for the year…Mr. Robin Williams. usat.ly/13tEXvk
He was a great champion for cycling. He is missed….
I’d actually have no problem paying for and supporting an ‘info’ license to ride a bike on city streets as long as the bill’s sponsors also agreed to put their money where their mouth is. Specifically, if the number of cycling / car accidents don’t decline per capita in the 3 year period following the laws’ inception – then they have to personally refund all the ‘info’ license fees. Put that stipulation on it and see how loud Pat Morrison squawks.
I get tired of seeing more and more frivolous legislation that lacks accountability for actually changing anything for the better. Maybe they should instead champion enforcing existing LAWS when it comes to prosecution of motorists that injure, maim or kill a cyclist through willful neglect or road rage.
And like David – I got an 8 out of 8 on the ‘test’.
